Nicolas is released from prison after 15 years of detention. As ayoungster, he had been a member of a revolutionary splinter group.He thought changing the world required violence. During an attackon a building which was symbolic for the state, Nicolas drove thecar. A policeman accidentally died in the incident. Leaving prison,Nicolas sincerely wishes to take his place in society: lead an ordinarylife, take an ordinary job and, why not, live as a couple with Nadia,an unpredictable woman he is desperately in love with. Having foundaccommodation in a squat, Nicolas is confronted with present daycontestant youth as well as with his old friends and present society.
