It is the story of a journey through 3 islands of the Canaries. In Gran Canaria, I look for the reels of Luis Buñuel’s film “The Golden Age”, which were literally buried at the beginning of the Spanish Civil War. Through my quest, I highlight the insular pleasure of evading realism and the “pagan” grace of this island, as if it were “charmed” by Buñuel’s film buried under ground. In Tenerife, I listen to the locals’ stories which stress his memory and his “Pantheist” poetry. I seek “The Golden Age” like I seek man’s capacity to be fascinated and to observe. In opposition to this there are the misadventures of the chaotic development of tourism and the images of the faultless happiness it conveys. This film ends in Lanzarote by a song punctuated by the rhythm of the litophones, those musical stones from a sacred volcanic mountain. Around these songs certain liberating movements are performed.
