Melody, a young woman of twenty-eight, decides to become a surrogate mother in return for a large sum of money that will allow her to at last buy the hair salon that she dreams of. The contracting mother, Emily, a rich Englishwoman of forty-eight, who can no longer have children, forces Melody to come and live with her in order to keep an eye on the smooth progress of her surrogate's pregnancy.

While at first they are worlds apart, the two women are surprised to find themselves adopting one another: Melody, born to an anonymous mother, finds the mother she never had in Emily and Emily sees in Melody the daughter that she could have had.

But will they be able to go though this difficult time that will unite them forever?
