"Amal" by Jawad Rhalib selected at Palm Springs
The Palm Springs International Film Festival has announced its 2024 selection, which will include the film "Amal" by Jawad Rhalib.
The annual Palm Springs International Film Festival plays host to a fabulous array of movies and movie stars. The Festival will feature a stellar line-up of over 100 films from more than 60 countries, special events and gala receptions
For its 2024 edition, the American festival has selected Amal by Jawad Rhalib in the World Cinema Now section. The film produced by Scope Pictures and will have its American premiere there.
Amal, a teacher in a Brussels school, encourages her pupils to cultivate a love of reading and freedom of expression, even if it means putting herself in danger. Her daring teaching practices will change her pupils' lives.
Let's also note the presence of three Belgian coproductions: Holly by Fien Troch (Les Films du Fleuve), Io Capitano by Matteo Garrone (Tarantula), The Green Border by Agnieszka Holland and Bye Bye Tibériade by Lina Soualem (Altitude 100).
