Two prizes won by "Love According to Dalva" in Cairo
On November 22, the Cairo International Film Festival revealed the winners of its 44th edition. Among the winning films is Emmanuelle Nicot's first feature film, "Love According to Dalva", which won the Jury Prize (Silver Pyramid) of the international competition as well as the Best Actress Award for Zelda Samson.
The 44th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival came to an end on November 22. The award-winning films of this 2022 edition were revealed during the closing ceremony.
Among these titles, there is the first feature film of the Franco-Belgian film director Emmanuelle Nicot, Love According to Dalva, which won two awards. The film, already shown in Cannes during the Critics' Week last May, wins here the Jury Prize (Silver Pyramid) of the international competition as well as the Best Actress Award for Zelda Samson. A new nomination for the film produced by Hélicotronc, which thus continues its impressive career in festivals.
The film Tori and Lokita by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, produced by Les Films du Fleuve, out of competition, was also featured among the films selected for this 44th edition.
This also included Valentina Maurel’s first film, I Have Electric Dreams, in the Critics Week section, produced by Wrong Men. Finally, note the presence of Lukas Dhont’s latest film, Close, co-produced by Versus Production.
