"Night Call" wins the Jury Grand Prix at the 2024 Rome Film Fest!

This weekend, the Jury of the Progressive Cinema competition awarded its Grand Prix to "Night Call" by Michiel Blanchart!

The closing ceremony of the 19th edition of the Rome Film Fest took place this Sunday, celebrating a festival defined by its balance between a high-quality program and accessibility to a broader audience. The Jury Grand Prix of the Progressive Cinema competition went to the thriller Night Call, the first feature film by Michiel Blanchart, starring Jonathan Feltre, Natacha Krief, and Jonas Bloquet. Produced by Boucan Production and sold internationally by Gaumont, the film has already earned multiple selections at international festivals in 2024, including the Busan International Film Festival and Fantastic Fest in Austin.

One evening, Mady –a student by day, and a locksmith by night - sees his life turned upside down when he opens a wrong door and accidentally finds himself involved with organized crime. In a city racked by violence, he has only one night to find Claire, the woman who betrayed his trust. The countdown begins…

In the 2024 selection of the Rome Film Fest, The Art Of Nothing, directed by Stefan Liberski, was also featured in the Official Selection - Progressive Cinema, for its world premiere. Produced by Artémis Productions and distributed by The Bureau, the film tells the story of Jean-Yves Machond, an obscure and unhappy painter. Seeking a fresh start, he moves to a small town in Normandy with hopes of creating a masterpiece that will bring him fame and recognition. However, his encounters with local artists—especially the warm-hearted Bagnoule and the talented Cécile—lead him to reconsider his ambitions and to pursue a simpler dream: that of finding happiness.
