For the 30th edition of the Festival Le Court en dit long - a competitive festival dedicated to French-speaking Belgian short films - 37 films have been selected for this anniversary edition which will take place from 31 May to 4 June in Paris.

A major event at the Centre Wallonie Bruxelles in Paris, Le Court en dit long presents a selection of about thirty new French-speaking Belgian short films among the hundred or so produced each year.

On the occasion of its 30th edition, 37 projects were selected, divided into seven thematic programmes: school and workshop films; in original version; LGBT + films; women directors; being together; the strange and first films.

Among the selected films, school and workshop films, self-produced films or films supported by the Centre du Cinéma et de l'Audiovisuel de la Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles, but also fiction, animation... All genres that contribute to making Belgian production one of the most unique!

At the end of the festival, 4 prizes will be granted:

  • The Grand Prize (awarded by the Centre du Cinéma et de l'Audiovisuel de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles and the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles/Paris)
  • The Director's Prize (awarded by Sabam for Culture)
  • The Screenplay Prize (awarded by the Belgian Committee of the SACD)
  • The Best Actress and Best Actor Prizes (awarded by the French-speaking Parliament of Brussels)

In addition, the Palmarès will be completed by the Prix du Public (awarded by the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles) and the Prix Coup de Cœur awarded by the two French-speaking Belgian television channels RTBF-La Trois and by VOO-BeTV.

Note that the Festival will also present out of competition in a Parisian premiere screening, The Hive, the first feature film by Christophe Hermans (Frakas Productions; Reel Suspects)

For the first time, on the periphery of the competition, the Festival will offer a professional short film scriptwriting workshop, in partnership with the Belgian SACD committee, supervised by Noémie Nicolas and Christophe Hermans. Six screenwriters selected to participate to this workshop will benefit from a day of one-to-one work with the two supervisors in April and May, and within the framework of the festival, a day of collective workshop with Christophe Hermans will be held on June 3 at the Centre.

Finally, in order to celebrate this anniversary edition, a retrospective screening of Le Court en dit long will be held on Saturday 4 June at 5pm, featuring major films from these thirty editions.

The 30th edition of Le Court en dit long will be held from 31 May to 4 June 2022 at the Centre Wallonie Bruxelles in Paris.
