Four Belgian actors and actresses preselected at the César 2024!
Marc Zinga, Mara Taquin, Daphné Patakia, and Julien Frison have been preselected in the Revelation category for the César 2024!
Yesterday, the Académie des César unveiled the list of the actors and actresses nominated in the Revelations category for the 2024 edition, highlighting 32 young actors who have made their mark in the past year with their talent, including four Belgian actors.
Mara Taquin, previously seen in Ennemi Public and Rien à foutre by Emmanuel Marre and Julie Lecoustre, as well as in La Ruche by Christophe Hermans, captured the attention of the selection committee with her performance in La Petite by Guillaume Nicloux. She stars alonside Fabrice Luchini, playing a young surrogate mother pregnant with the actor's deceased son.
Daphné Patakia, already acclaimed for her role in Paul Verhoeven's Benedetta alongside Virginie Efira and in the Canal+ series Ovni(s), stands out in Marie-Garel Weiss's film Sur la branche, sharing the screen with Benoît Poelvoorde. She plays the lead role of a young woman suffering from bipolar disorder.
Marc Zinga, also among the nominees, had already left a lasting impression in 2015 with his role in Abd al Malik's film Qu'Allah bénisse la France. In 2018, he was pre-selected for Gabriel Le Bomin's Nos patriotes. This year, he is nominated for his performance in Augure by Baloji, which was released yesterday in Belgian cinemas and is the Belgian representative for the Oscar for Best International Film.
Also noteworthy is the selection of Julien Frison for Anna Novion's film, titled Le théorème de Marguerite, further strengthening the remarkable Belgian presence among the Revelations for the 2024 César Awards.
Finally, let's highlight the selection of two French actors, Julien De Saint-Jean and Khalil Gharbia, for their performances in Le Paradis, the debut feature film by Zeno Graton.
