Four Wallonia-Brussels films selected for FIPADOC 2023
The FIPADOC, an international documentary film festival in Biarritz, has unveiled its program for 2023. Four French-speaking Belgian films will be competing in various categories.
Since its creation in 1987, the International Festival of Audiovisual Programs and Documentaries, renamed FIPADOC in 2019, has established itself as one of the international hotspots of documentary cinema.
Among the nearly 180 cinematic works selected for this year's event, there are four Franco-Belgian productions.
In the category of Impact Documentary we can find the film by Quentin Noirfalisse & Arnaud Zajtman, Cobalt Rush: The Future of Going Green, produced by Dancing Dog Productions. Noé Reutenauer's feature film, A Bump in the Heart, produced by Hélicotronc, is featured in the Panorama of French-Speaking Creation category.
Among the competition's short films, we have the self-produced film by Quentin Bruno, Daara, as well as the short film produced by IAD, On Mothers and Daughters in Times of Injustice, by Talia Jawitz in the New Talent section.
Also noteworthy is the presence of two Franco-Belgian production companies, Les Gens and Tarantula, respectively credited in two series airing outside the competition: Gaïaland by Yvonne Debeaumarché & Hannu Kontturi and The Outreau Affair by Olivier Ayache-Vidal & Agnès Pizzini.
The 2023 edition of FIPADOC takes place from January 20 to 28.
