“Silent Panorama” in competition at ZINEBI 2024!
Nicolas Piret's animated short film has been selected for the 66th edition of ZINEBI
ZINEBI – International Festival of Documentary and Short Film of Bilbao is the only A-class international festival in Spain in the category of documentaries and short films recognized by the FIAPF since 1974. It is also recognized by the Hollywood Academy as an Oscar-qualifying festival, by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts for the BAFTA Awards, by the European Film Academy for the European Film Awards, and by the Spanish Academy for the Goya Awards.
Silent Panorama by Nicolas Piret has been selected for the Short Film International Competition at the Spanish festival. The film is produced by Zorobabel and has already been selected by numerous international festivals, including Annecy, Karlovy Vary, and more recently at AFI FEST.
In the middle of nature, at the base of a cliff, two campers, intrigued by outside noises, cross the deserted landscape, lamp in hand. Cracking, trickling and other sounds give life to these places, home to a silent fauna, almost invisible, but still very present. This film was drawn and animated alone on a single sheet of paper as a performance.
Let us also highlight the selection of Rising Up At Night by Nelson Makengo, produced by Twenty Nine Studio & Production, in the First Film International Competition.
